The COVID Relief Effort for Afghan Communities and Households Program Relief Packages were distributed to 1053 Households in Herat City

In continuation of distribution of relief packages by the COVID Relief Effort for Afghan Communities and Households Program under the Citizens’ Charter urban program in Herat city, this time a total of 1,053 households benefited from the relief packages.
The beneficiaries who were provided with the packages, expressed gratitude and appreciation over the timely support by Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan through the COVID Relief Effort for Afghan Communities and Households program.
The relief packages distributed contains a bag of 25 kg of rice, 10 liters of oil, 10 kg of beans and 6 pieces of soap at a total cost of AFN 4,000. The distribution took place throughout Ishaq Khail, Itefaqi Jebreel, Hamyaree, Taraqee and Ibtikar Solidarity Development Councils in 13 and 15 districts of Herat city in presence of Development Council members, Imams of mosques, Youth and Participatory Monitoring Committees’ members Civil Society and the World Bank representatives.
It’s noteworthy that so far, a total of 11,274 deserving households have received COVID Relief Effort for Afghan Communities and Households program relief packages throughout urban districts covered by CCAP urban in Herat city. The distribution process is still in progress, and the most needy will benefit from these aid packages.
