Distribution of relief package to 2,307 Eligible Households under COVID Relief Effort for Afghan Communities and Households in Herat Province
COVID Relief Effort for Afghan Communities and Households Program Relief packages under CCAP Urban were distributed to 2,307 households in Hujatia, Jamalee, Rastgaraan, Wahdat Shaalbafaan, Wahdat Saidabad, Arabha, Eslahaat, Hazrat Osman, Omar Bini Abdulaziz, Rahmani and Shah Gharibaan CDCs in district ten, eleven, twelve and fourteen of Herat city.
These packages comprising of one bag of 25 kg of rice, 10 liters of oil, 10 kg of bean, and 6 pieces of hand washing soaps costing AFN. 4,000 were distributed door to door to each household in Herat city. During the distribution, CDC members, Mullah Imams of mosques, youth and CPM committee members, CSO and WB representatives were also present.
Receiving the relief packages, beneficiaries expressed gratitude and welcomed the timely support of the Government of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan through REACH program, adding that in course of the winter season when on one hand the rate of unemployment is at peak with no distinct source of income, and on the other hand when the expenditures are up, such contributions would work as a favorable donation for a period of time.
